Scandinavian holidays

So, it is me, Vava, who has been entrusted with the task to tell you about our New Year vacation. That's probably because — to be absolutely modest — I was the Star of the trip. Also, Sweden is my Granddad's homeland — thus I was twice as intrigued by the place and looking forward to seeing my Swedish corgi-pals. They are doing quite well, actually.

We had a very busy and interesting schedule. Our primary goal was visiting the major Swedish dog exhibition event, which gathered over 4 thousand dogs this year in Goteborg on 3-6 January'13.

My Mum had also promised a varied cultural program, namely, New Year and Christmas celebration on a ferry, Goteborg walks, shopping and many other things.

The trip started as it should have — with packing, organizing, running around, nervousness and worries that Mum and Dad may leave something out before the trip. Then we took a bus to the capital of Finland Helsinki and boarded on the ferry on the 31st of December'12.

There were so many people there, I tell you! But we managed to get to our suit all right.

While Mum and Dad were meeting the New Year eve in the restaurant (well, they did not let us in there, unfortunately), we were getting adjusted to the sea rocking and tossing. We were not seasick actually, at all, but just as the story goes.

In the morning, like real sea dogs (and we actually were dogs at the sea) we climbed to the upper deck. The salty wind was blowing into our muzzles and we were nearly blown off many times! But we were strong and endured it all honorably — gladly, the salty air of Baltics was all in our fur and skin.

We came ashore in Stockholm and headed towards Goteborg. It is quite a small, but very nice town. There are plenty of cannels with ducks — which were by the way strolling freely in the park where we took a walk. Twice we were ready to start our hunt, but we were not allowed.

On our way back we took the same route and celebrated Christmas on the ferry. It was not so crowded this time and probably not as cheerful as before, yet it was again the sea, the wind, the thrill and adventure!

Now let me pass to the main subject. We were on show 03-04 January. As I have said already, I had a good chance to «star» a little. Two days in a row I was BOS and once BOB.

03 January 2013 (expert Blid von Schedvin Sweden) — CAC, CACIB, BOS, BOB, nomination to CRUFTS
04 January 2013 (expert Staunskjaer Ole Denmark) — CAC, CACIB, BOS, nomination to CRUFTS

Mum and Dad said they are so proud of me. Mary and Fiko also made a good shot — they took R.CACIB each. Please, see our full list of awards on our pages in section «Achievements» .

Unfortunately, it was not me who took the Champion of Sweden award — I could not make it, as I am not yet 2 years old. But that's nothing to worry about — I am just only starting my career, I am so young.

The travel was full of wonder and the time flew very swiftly.

We took a lot of pictures — please, pop in and take a look.

Yours, Vava!
